◆ Houseplant Epilogue

"I'm home," a tired woman's voice says.

"Welcome back," another woman cheerfully replies.

The woman who just came home, takes off her pumps and walks into the living room, her shoulders drooping.

"Ugh, I'm beat... I wish they'd stop scheduling dinner meetings with clients on their own. It makes me late coming home."

"Oh, so you had dinner already?"

"No, I left halfway. I told them I had a girlfriend waiting for me at home."

"A girlfriend... You'll get funny looks, you know? Chii-chan is so beautiful, you could just say you have a boyfriend."

"It's fine. I don't want to lie to myself."

"You're so clumsy."

"I handle my work efficiently, so it balances out."

With that, the short-haired woman gives a quick kiss to the long-haired woman.

The two of them were living together.

They started dating in high school, and now it's already their eighth year. That little girl is turning twenty-five this year.

"Ah, Aoi, hug me tightly."

"Yes, yes, you spoiled girl."

"So healing... I wish we could stay like this forever... If only tomorrow wouldn't come..."

"It's okay, tomorrow will come. No matter how tough the night, we can get through it."

"Even if you say it so positively..."

The woman pouts, and the long-haired woman kisses her without a word.

"I love you, Aoi."

"Of course, I love you too, Chii-chan."

"Mm, that cheers me up... Let's get married, Aoi."

"We're already married, remember?"

With that, she shows off the ring on her ring finger. Seeing the silver ring, the woman smiled even more.

Just then, A thumping noise resounded from the entrance.

"Ugh, what a day! I thought I could finally go home on time today, but they dumped a bunch of documents on me at the last minute! I told them that time with my lover is far more precious than any overtime pay!"

A noisy woman came in. As she undid her hair, she saw the two entangled in the living room and exclaimed, "Ah!"

"Why are you two already being so lovey-dovey!"

"I was here first."

"But you came home early yesterday too!"

"You were the one who got home first three days in a row last week."

"Uu, I want a hug too! I want kissy-kissy!"

Seeing her acting like a child, the long-haired woman spreads her arms with a wry smile.

"Izumi, come here."

"Yay… I love you, Aoi-san."

"Aoi, you don't have to spoil her so much. She's a grown woman, after all."

The woman clinging to her said so.

"But I feel bad for her. Besides, the Benjamin Baroque closes early, so I always end up being the first one home."

"It's fine, Aoi. Because you're here, I can work every day. Without you, my world would be in darkness."

"Totally agree… Ah, so healing…"

"Izumi, you're starting to act like one of the customers at Sumire-san's café lately…"

"Hey, stop it~ If you're going to say that, then Chiharu-san too..."

"Ha, give me a break. I'm not that hopeless."

"Come on, stop fighting."

The woman pulled them both close and alternately kissed them. Just like that, the two of them quieted down like well-behaved pets. The relieved woman stood up and tied her hair back.

"Dinner is ready. Or do you want to take a bath first?"

""With Aoi(-san).""

"Yes, yes, so it's dinner then. Got it."

The woman headed to the kitchen but then peeked back out.

"But before that, you two need to properly do the make up kiss. One kiss for each quarrel. That's our house rule, right?"

""Eeeh.""

The two made displeased faces in unison.

"It's our promise, right?"

However, when the woman pressed further, they turned red, but...

They gave each other a quick peck on the lips.

"...Ah, it tastes like Aoi."

"I know exactly what you mean."

"Geez."

On each of their ring fingers, a ring shone.

The woman who was serving dinner suddenly looked up as if she remembered something.

"Oh, that's right."

She picked up a watering can and went over to a potted plant standing in the corner of the living room.

There stood a houseplant, a Benjamin Baroque, which they had moved with them when they moved in.

It's full of lively leaves, and as it was being watered by the woman, it almost seems like it was about to let out a comfortable sigh, like "Ah, ah, oh no... this feels good..."

Yes, houseplants do not have a lifespan.

Even if more than thirty years pass, they can live on forever through cuttings.

As long as this apartment and Café Benjamin Baroque don't both catch fire at the same time.

"Aoi-san, I'll set the chopsticks."

"Aoi, I'll carry the plates."

"Ah, okay."

The woman with the watering can turned around and smiled.

This fickle woman who had the audacity to confess to two girls at once eight years ago is indeed Sumire-san's niece and my younger sister. Blood is thicker than water, I guess.

The girl from that day will never be alone again.

Because she has two wonderful women by her side.

The charm that brings energy has cast an unbreakable magic on the three of them.

The language of the Benjamin Baroque plant is "Family Bonds & Spousal Love."

Thus, from now on--- I will continue to watch over the love life of the yuri couple.

A complete victory! Happy end!
