◆ Pet Cat Epilogue
Ting ting, a bell rang.
“Welcome!” The beautiful manager with long black hair smiled as she
polished a cup. A houseplant with leafy tufts resembling messy hair sat on the
counter.
“Thanks,” the beauty with flashy colored hair and jewel-like nails bowed in response. After scanning the interior with a blank expression, her face suddenly lit up like a blooming flower.
“Sorry for the wait, got a last-minute
reservation just now.”
“No no, it’s okay. I just got here myself.”
Waiting for her is a cheerful woman with shoulder-length short
haircut. She had a warm, sunflower-like smile, with her long fingers brushing
against the rim of her cup.
Well then, after ordering a blend, the
beauty with stylish nails quickly gets to the point,
“It appears polygamy isn’t legal in Japan.”
“Uh...uh-huh?”
“So I suppose it’s first come first serve
in this case.”
From her famous-brand bag, she took out a single sheet of paper—a
marriage form.
“I already filled out my part, so it’s just
Miyuyu’s side left. Hurry, before she gets here.”
“She? Who’s she?”
“Why of course—”
Turning back, there stood a woman in a business suit with beautiful
long blonde hair carrying suitcase over her shoulder. With one hand tucked in
her pocket, her striking beauty would sear itself into the mind of any who laid
eyes on her. Removing her sunglasses with a sigh, she said:
“Girl, you’re twenty-five already but still
doing this kind of thing? I’m amazed you can even run a nail salon...”
“I used my gut feeling.”
The other customers whispered to each other, “Could she be that
famous designer...?” The blonde beauty took a seat beside the beauty with
stylish nails.
The black-haired woman smiles,
“Welcome back, Rinka-chan. First time back
in Japan in a while?”
“I’m home, Miyu. It’d be easier if this
town had an airport too. Oh, you doing well too Tama?”
The cat in the pet basket on the table let out a meow.
“So, Hinano, why the marriage form now?”
A ring glistened on Rinka’s ring finger, on Hinano’s, and of course
Miyu’s too. Each different colored, a bit flashy on the Rinka’s and Hinano’s
side, but genuine wedding rings nonetheless.
“Well, I thought you’d get jealous if I
made a head start.”
“I’ll be more sad with the fact that I couldn’t
see through your tricks.”
“I just want Miyuyu all to myself some
nights, you know.”
“And this is for that? You plan to divorce
and remarry each time? I’m so over.”
Grrr, Hinano groaned.
Unable to sit still any longer, Miyu spoke up,
“Now now, it’s just Hinano-chan being her
usual self. Let’s all get along, okay?”
At her words, the two’s bickering instantly quieted down.
Hinano slumped over the table while Rinka let out a sigh.
“Yes yes, I love you Hinano.”
“Love you tooo–”
Fufufu, Miyu smiled as she sipped her
blend.
“Since Rinka-chan’s back for the first time
after a long time, I should make a big feast today.”
“Ooh, is your cooking’s gotten even
tastier?”
“I wonder, you’ll have to try it and see.
Or would you prefer something more energizing?”
“T-That’s...I’ll leave it to you.”
Rinka blushed and looked away. Seeing her childlike innocence from
the past, Miyu stroked Rinka’s earlobe.
“Leave it to me then. Since you’re so cute,
Rinka-chan.”
“Hey...we’re outside, so....”
“Oh my, what did you think I was going to
do? I’m only stroking you. Fufufu.”
“...Miyu, you dummy.”
Rinka’s face turned bright red. Hinano watched them while pouting.
Afterwards, the three left the Benjamin Baroque café and headed home
together. Having lived together for three years now, they were of course still
got along very well, or rather, too well—the nights tend to get a little wild.
Well, not wild. Simply wonderful.
“It’s been a while since we took this
route. This park sure brings back memories. Oh hey, look!”
Miyu trotted over into the park.
There among the weathered playground equipment, sat the upturned
bowl they once used as hiding spot.
“Wow, it’s so tiny now~”
“Hey, let’s get in and see.”
“Eh? Eeeh–”
Ignoring her frowning, Miyu pulled Hinano along into the bowl. Looking
at the ceiling from the basket here, it’s surprisingly spacious. Still, once
Rinka joined us, it became very cramped.
Miyu chuckled happily.
“This is where it all started for us, isn’t
it?”
“...It is, huh.”
Rinka brought her face closer to Miyu’s and gave her a kiss.
“I love you, Miyu.”
“Of course, I love you too. I love you so
much. I’ll love you forever and ever.”
This time, Miyu kissed Hinano.
“I love you too, Hinano. Let’s stay
together until death do us part.”
“Yeah...together forever. Love you tons,
Miyuyu.”
They say life is a story of encounters and farewells.
But even if you encounter your destined partner, if you fail to
realize they are your destiny, you’ll never find your happiness together.
I believe that the kindest girl was able to grasp happiness because
she tried her best to connect with others and loved them deeply more than
anyone else.
Just like how she saved the life of a cat not once, but twice with
her tiny hands——
From now on, I will continue to watch over Miyu’s—yuri couple’s
lovey-dovey life.
A calico cat is a beckoning cat. A pedigree pet blessed with the
protection and fortune of happiness.
A perfect victory! Happy ending!
